For the Iyengar Yoga enthusiast, we have something special on offer: a pop-up class with Lucienne Vidah from New York City.

The class replaces the regular Friday evening Level 3 class, and will be open to All Levels.

“Being acutely alive and aware of the process of the body and the mind is what yoga practice means”

Lucienne Vidah started the study of Iyengar Yoga in in 1984 her native Amsterdam with Clé Souren. She came to yoga as a dancer but also worked in Amsterdam hospitals as a nurse and in pelvic floor rehab therapy in NYC. She is certified in Hellerwork

Lucienne moved to NYC and completed the teacher training in 2006 under the guidance of Mary Dunn and James Murphy. Since 2004, she has made regular trips to Pune to study with the Iyengar family.

Since 1999 Studio Spine has been Lucienne’s dream work. After running three studios in NYC she now operates online and teaches workshops in various locations.  Recently, she became a resident of Edinburgh, Scotland and currently divides her time between Edinburgh and New York.

Lucienne’s teaching invites students to experience their embodiment through detailed attention to specific areas of the body.

She has a keen interest in how the body functions – as a tool for artistic expression in dance, as a means for healing through bodywork, and as a way to sharpen the mind as a yoga practitioner. “By exploring and defining the outer form, we find the layered composition of the form which gradually transforms our inner perceptions and ultimately ourselves.”
