Back to the rhythm

Summer vacation is over, schools have started, and we are slowly falling back into our daily routine. But the warm weather, the long days and the beautiful September light still provide that wonderful late summer feeling. How nice is it to hold on to that summer vibe? So come and do some yoga, then you will not only stay physically active, but you will also be able to mentally hold on to that relaxed feeling of summer a little longer.

We also did yoga on our vacation, and took an example from Eyal Shifroni’s book ‘Yoga in Nature’. For example, we ended up in this Treekonasana. Treehugging ;) and enjoying the shade, the firmness of the trunk and the view.

Doing yoga in new places, such as outside, in a different environment and with different props, can offer you surprising new experiences. To fully utilize those experiences, it is useful to have a solid foundation. By regularly attending class, you build that foundation and you are stronger in every new yoga setting. This way you can continue to discover and grow, wherever you are.

This week we start again with the Beginners Class on Wednesday evening, and also the other classes that were on hold during the holidays have returned to the schedule. And next Saturday the second edition of the Masterclass Yoga for Runners will take place – there is still room so sign up! A longer class like this one is ideal to get back into the rhythm.

See you on the mat (or on the screen of course).

In-Depth Course - starts 21 September

Want to deepen your yoga practice? Over the course of 9 full weekends and two separate days in 2024-25, four experienced certified Iyengar teachers will guide you in progressive research of asana, pranayama and the underlying philosophy, basic anatomy, and physiology.

It’s a chance to set apart some time for yourself and yoga, to get more involved in yoga philosophy, expand your practice of asana and pranayama, and to meet like-minded people.

A strong foundation in yoga can help you to enrich your life, develop healthy relationships and contribute more to the world around us. Starts 21 September – registration is still open!

10 years after his first visit in our small first studio, Garth McLean will be back in Utrecht this September. His workshop has just sold out, but if you are keen to join, please send us an email and we will place you on the waitlist. Places often come available last-minute.

The workshop is open to everyone, with a special focus on individuals with MS, Parkinson’s, Long Covid, neurological and movement challenges, as well as yoga teachers or teachers in training. Read all about it here

If you want to secure your spot for the next workshop, you can already register for Eyal Shifroni in March of 2025. He will teach a workshop with a focus on Yoga Kurunta, or yoga with ropes. The use of wall and ceiling ropes is very characteristic to Iyengar yoga. Ropes are used to increase awareness and alignment, stretch areas of the body that are otherwise difficult to access, and give support in poses that can be hard to perform like backbends or inversions. Also: it is just fun to try and experience different sensations with the ropes.

Because we want everybody to have a chance to work with ropes, spaces will be limited. You can sign up (and get the early bird discount) here!
