Dynamic Yoga

Shift your boundaries and jump into a handstand!

Dynamic yoga class: for power and energy

Sluit je weekeind af met een energieke Iyengar yoga-les, waarin dynamische sequenties en precise uitlijning samenkomen.

When was the last time you did a handstand? This Sunday, you’ll have another chance! In this class, Eeke combines the with an active and powerful approach. No static poses, but an energetic class that challenges your body and mind. Jump into a handstand, do a somersault, or work on your core in arm balance poses. Perfect for ending your weekend with a feeling of strength, balance, and renewed energy.

Timing: fast or slow?

Timing is often mentioned as a characteristic of Iyengar yoga. This often means holding the poses for a long time. But it also involves consciously controlling the pace. Sometimes this means moving quickly from pose to pose. This literally sets your body in motion and can also prevent stagnation in other aspects.

For example, see the 1977 video of BKS Iyengar shown alongside. And before you shy away from class: there are modifications available for everyone, and the transitions in this video are certainly not mandatory! But perhaps you can get closer than you think…

Can I join?

This class is for experienced yoga practitioners who want to deepen their practice, and certainly also for beginners who want to build a solid, active foundation. You don’t have to be able to do it, just be open to start learning.

Dynamic Yoga is on Sundays from 18:15-19:30

What can you expect from Dynamic Iyengar Yoga?

Movement from pose to pose: Dynamic transitions between asanas, while maintaining the typical Iyengar precision.

Movement into or towards the pose: By rhythmically repeating a particular aspect or phase of a pose you may be able to get deeper into the pose than if you simply hold it for a long time.

Focus on alignment: Attention to proper technique and safety, supported by props such as blocks and straps.

Building strength and flexibility: By focusing on alignment and repetitive movements, the dynamic yoga class helps you build both strength and flexibility.

Improving body awareness: By doing yoga you develop a deeper awareness of your body and how it moves.

Shift your boundaries: Do you finally want to learn a handstand or experiment with arm balances? This is your chance!
