A restorative yoga practice is a great way to calm the mind and nervous system, and manage stress. The Asanas for Emotional Stability, given by BKS Iyengar in his book Light on Life, are a sequence of fifteen supported asanas presented with detailed instructions and illustrations on use of props and timings. When done regularly and well this sequence can help establish emotional stability. Expect to stay in supported poses for a long time. We recommend that you are accustomed to doing inverted poses for some time before joining this practice.
