At the moment, the entire Amsterdamsestraatweg is one big sandbox, and that will continue for a while. It will undoubtedly be beautiful, but we have already started ‘making the ASW great again’. The mailbox still needs to be spruced up, and some new greenery could be added, but it is a start. With the support of theGemeente Utrecht we now have a beautiful new entrance gate—a work of art designed by Tomasz Vetulani based on the iconic photos from Light on Yoga, and executed by Fons Venner.

We are very pleased with this addition to our yoga school, and we hope that passers-by can enjoy it too, and feel invited to come and have a look.

And perhaps it can invite you to a new game: which asanas can you name? And how many different poses do you see?

Below you can see the previous incarnations of our gate… tell us, is it an improvement?

Apart from the new fence we have finally given a nice place to a work of art that we have had in our possession for a while, namely the work daily practice by Anne Verhoijsen in a ‘box’ made by Esron. This work was also on display at the IYVN convention with Abhijata Iyengar in Amsterdam in 2018. Below you see two pairs of hands and feet as they were presented then (with Roland Sohier‘s Strek dat been in the background), and as they now are at the entrance to the big room.

Here you see a close-up of both works. In 2018 IYVN turned ‘strek dat been‘ into a postcard.
