... but we are already preparing for next winter

If you come to the yoga school in the coming weeks: don’t be alarmed! Our entire ‘urban jungle’ in the lobby has been moved to make room for the scaffolding of Andreas and his friends, who are sticking thick slabs of Styrofoam on our ceiling.

Like many, we are also confronted with the increased costs of energy, and we are doing everything we can to insulate our old building even better. Before we moved here, we insulated the walls and the floor, installed underfloor heating, replaced the skylights with new ones and installed a ventilation system with heat recovery installation. But… our non-insulated roof was only two years old at the time. At that point we decided that we would insulate the roof if it needed to be replaced. Only we have now been overtaken by time, and our energy bills force us to take measures now. You may have seen that additional windows were placed in front of the roof windows in January (they can be opened in the summer for extra ventilation). And now the ceilings. A few weeks of inconvenience, and hopefully a lower energy bill next year.

To make matters worse, we also had the entire driveway open in recent days because of a sewage problem, which meant that our sewers quickly got blocked during heavy rain. Oh and maybe you’ve seen the back wall in the small room, with those windows next to it waiting for the makers to have time to come and put them in…

Long story short: work in progress. We use the opportunity to ensure that everything is cleaned properly once again, repot the plants, and the driveway is also nicely straightened in the coming days. And meanwhile we work around it. So far we notice that you can at least deal with it in a relaxed and flexible way, hopefully that is a sign that yoga works ;)

We also hope that you understand we have to implement new prices (see below). These will take effect from April 1 for lesson cards, and from May 1 for current monthly subscriptions. Discounts for full-time students or Upas holders are higher than before.

We would like to run a (financially and otherwise) healthy yoga school, but we also want to keep yoga accessible for everyone. So if it becomes prohibitively expensive for you, don’t hesitate to get in touch – we are always willing to find a solution.

Eyal Shifroni Easter Weekend | 8 & 9 April

In the Easter weekend, 8 & 9 april, Eyal Shifroni is coming for the final part of his 4 day course. Missed the first 2? No problem, you can still join one or both of these days. There are still some places available.

We have really enjoyed his gentle, refined and joyful teaching in his previous visits to Utrecht. So set aside this time for yourself to discover ways to deepen your practice and find inspiration. It’s a wonderful opportunity!

Garth McLean | 15, 16 & 17 Sept | Save the dates!

BKS Iyengar said it beautifully: “Yoga teaches us to cure what need not be endured, and endure what cannot be cured”.

Someone who embodies that concept, and from whom we have learned a lot in many areas, is Garth McLean. He will be returning to Utrecht in September, and it is a real privilege to learn from him.

Save the dates! More info on the website soon!

Easter schedule

We have classes every day, but during holidays we often have an adjusted schedule. Also at Easter. Because of the workshop, some classes are canceled, but we also have an XL Easter Class with Claas on the 10th of April. And if you want to do yoga on the 9th, come join Eyal!. En als je op Eerste Paasdag zin in yoga hebt, kom vooral meedoen met Eyal!
