The Syntropy of Yoga – Iyengar Yoga, Osteopathy, Movement.
We are happy to welcome Billy Konrad in Utrecht for the first time!
Billy is a Senior Iyengar Yoga Teacher. Orig inally trained at the Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Francisco, he relocated to Europe in 2007 to further his training in Paris, France. In 2012, he moved full time to Portugal – where he now lives with his family. He brings more than 30 years of uninterrupted study and practice to his public classes and workshops.
In this workshop he works together with Tobias Lotan. Tobias started his career in body work as a massage therapist in 2009. In 2015 he completed his education in the University of Wales and became an Osteopathic Doctor. He always had an aversion to the traditional diagnostic model where the doctor is seen as the “savior” and the patient as the “victim”.
Committed to empowering his clients with their own ability to heal, Tobias began to use movement as medicine, integrating tailored exercise protocols in each treatment session. Serendipitously, it was at this time that his path converged with Billy Konrad’s and the Syntropy of Yoga, a synthesis between Iyengar Yoga and Osteopathy was born.
The collaboration between Billy and Tobias began in 2020. With their individual practices unexpectedly interrupted by lockdowns and social distancing, Billy and Tobias began working together to develop what is now the Syntropy of Yoga. In sharing their philosophical approaches to health of mind, body and spirit, they realized that the synthesis of yoga and osteopathy creates the perfect framework for teaching others all they need to know to heal themselves.
They teach this program in many locations. Over the course of 6 weekends, they move through all basic movement patterns and major families of asanas.
